We've Got Briggs!

All the waiting was so worth it for today! We headed to the orphanage with Gretel at 10am. On the way, she informed us that they call Briggs “the chairman” because he’s really big - “almost as big as Scott,” Gretel said. Good to know that Briggs is healthy and jokes about Scott’s height know no international boundaries.

Walking into the orphanage and seeing Briggs again was just incredible, especially because this time we didn’t have to say goodbye. Briggs did not share our excitement – he slept through our arrival and didn’t open his eyes for a good ten minutes.

We spent a few hours hanging out in the orphanage with Briggs’s friends and saying goodbye to all of the nannies who have taken such amazing care of him, and then we headed to the high-speed rail to Taipei. En route Briggs showed us what he has learned since we left – he is now a champion drooler. We’re super proud.

We’re looking forward to our first night back with Briggs (the rumor is that he sleeps through the night- we’ll believe it when we see it). Tomorrow we go to the American Institute to get Briggs’s visa.
