Yesterday we dropped Briggs off at the orphanage for a couple hours and headed to the lawyer's office, where we signed our names a zillion times and officially started the adoption process. At the last minute, we decided to change Briggs's middle name from Syue to You-Syue (pronounced "yo-schway" but when said fast it sounds more like "yo-shi") since You-Syue is what everyone here calls him.
Here's a pic of our amazing translator Gretel who is helping us navigate this week (and has introduced us to the best bubble tea ever).
Today is our last full day with Briggs so we're going to explore the city a bit more and just hang out with him. Tomorrow we bring him back to the orphanage at noon and then go to Taipei for the night.
